Project Background

The Council provides funding to People First Missouri (PFMO) to support self-advocacy. PFMO works to increase participation of self-advocates through supporting chapters in our state.

Project Description

People First Missouri is working to support and strengthen self-advocacy in Missouri. They do this through leadership development opportunities for self-advocates. They focus on five priority areas: transportation, fiscal skills, self-determination, supported decision making and guardianship education and awareness, and housing. Also, they educate lawmakers on the issues that face individuals with disabilities.
