Annual Celebration Disability Rights Legislative Day:ย  March 1, 2023

For nearly 20 years, disability advocates from around Missouri have traveled to the State Capitol to participate in Disability Rights Legislative Day and have their voices heard. Last year, we were able to bring Missourians the option of participating virtually and we are please to be able to offer this opportunity in 2023.

The event will be held in person and virtually so people with disabilities, family members, and others can participate regardless of where they live in the state. The more people that participate, the more we can advocate for what's important to us and show the legislature that "WE are the People."

Disability Rights Legislative Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. A rally will take place from 11 a.m. to noon and will feature an impressive lineup of speakers, including various legislators, and some powerful disability advocates (check out drld.org for an updated list as we confirm speakers). After the rally, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., in-person participants can meet with their legislators.

As part of the "WE the People" theme, we will feature rally speakers focused on issues including Transportation, Employment and the Caregiver Crisis. During the rally, legislators and advocates will cover these topics. When you meet with your legislators, you can talk about these topics or any other issues that impact your life each and every day.
