MODDC, in partnership with KultureCity, brings mobile sensory space for people with sensory needs to NFL Draft in Kansas City April 28-29

The Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council (MODDC), in partnership with KultureCity, invites NFL Draft attendees, with sensory processing needs, to a mobile sensory experience at Union Station in Kansas City on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 2023.

KultureCity is an organization dedicated to creating sensory accessibility and inclusion to events and outdoor experiences.

KultureCity and MODDC staff will be on site with trained volunteers, sensory bags and two mobile sensory rooms for families and individuals who have sensory needs. One of the major barriers for these individuals is sensitivity to over stimulation and noise, which is an enormous part of the NFL Draft environment. Sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones (provided by Puro Sound Labs), fidget tools and verbal cue cards will be available for fans to use and take home at no additional cost.

KultureCity Location

The two locations are near the theater ticketing (main stage) and on the South side of the National WWI Museum and Memorial, near clinic field at Draft Experience presented by Panini Trading Cards.

KultureCity will also have special wristbands available for families and individuals with sensory needs for expediting individuals to the front of lines.

The mobile sensory experience:

  • is designed to bring sensory relief to locations that do not have interior physical space for a sensory room.
  • provides a quick sensory refuge for those with sensory needs.
  • enables them to get a quick break and then go back to enjoying the event.
  • enables families to attend the NFL Draft with their loves ones with sensory needs.
